Buried Servo for Future Tape Storage

Objective: Developing independent servo of individual read heads for tape system.
Feature: Working together with tape drive, data center, and tape heads companies.

The plan is to build a collaborative working team, led by DSSC, to develop a servo technology to enable independent dynamic servo of individual write/read heads. This capability will significantly increase track density and substantially alleviate strict environment constrain for today’s tape systems.
