Bio

Enbo Zhang is currently a graduate student at CMU ECE, and he is now an experimentalist working in the Data Storage and System Center. He received his B.S. degree in Polymer Materials and Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Engineering in 2017, and M.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2019.

Research

Enbo is interested in the spin dynamics of magnetic devices. We are building a magnetic imaging system using a single nitrogen-vacancy (NV) color center in diamond. The NV color center in diamond is an atom-like system in the solid-state which specific spin properties can be efficiently used as a sensitive magnetic sensor. The system will be able to able to measure GHz magnetic field with a nanoscale resolution.
