Engineering Novel HAMR Media via Modeling

Objective: Engineering L1FePt Media for Higher Area Density Capability
Feature: Modeling incorporated L10 atomic structure at grain level

With added ability to model the inner structure of a L1FePt grain, the modeling enables studies of correlations between recording properties and the inner structure of a L10 FePt grain. Trapping a single domain wall inside the grain at transition centers reduces transition noise and effectively increases the number of grains across the track without an actual physically increase.
