Two XPS spectrometers using either Mg or Al Ka radiation are used for chemical characterization of surfaces and the chemical state of materials surfaces. Both are equipped with SPECS Phobios 150MCD electrostatic analyzers. Both are capable of detecting surface concentrations of as little as 0.01 monolayer.
