Two Mattson RS-1 FTIR spectrometers have been modified to obtain single reflection IR absorption spectra of molecules and thin films on surfaces. Both operate in the frequency range 800–4000 cm-1 and are capable of detecting adsorbed molecules concentration of less than one monolayer.
