Maxwell is a PhD candidate in the department of Materials Science and Engineering and is co-advised by Professors Vincent Sokalski and Marc De Graef. Maxwell obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Materials Science and Engineering where he performed research related to Li-ion batteries and electrochemistry. He then obtained his masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Materials Science researching carbon nanotube aerogels for supercapacitor applications. His current research focuses on examining chiral spin textures in magnetic multilayers via Lorentz transmission electron microscopy for potential magnetic memory applications.

Research interests: Spintronics, skyrmions, magnetic memory storage.
