IDEMA Symposium Features Two DSSC Professors

Professors Mark Kryder and Jimmy Zhu of DSSC, gave the opening and closing talks, respectively, at the recent IDEMA (Industrial Disk Drive Equipment and Materials Association) Symposium "Beyond 1 Tbits/in2."

In his opening talk, Professor Kryder presented various potential technologies for area densities beyond 1 Tbits/in2 and discussed a range of promises and challenges inherent to each technology.

Professor Jimmy Zhu presented the talk on a specific novel technology, Microwave Assisted Magnetic Recording, and challenged recording heads companies to incorporate this technology into their production practices.
